Description:
We are seeking a NYS admitted attorney with 0-5 years of experience practicing law, to primarily work in our litigation and municipal law practice areas. The ideal candidate for this position will be highly analytical with strong writing and interpersonal skills with a connection to the Orange and Sullivan County, NY region.As an Associate Attorney, you will work alongside our highly accomplished and peer recognized partners and other associate attorneys to handle various litigation disputes, including but not limited to: general commercial litigation, estate and probate litigation, and landlord/tenant law. Additionally, knowledge and understanding of NYS City, Town and Village Law is preferred, as the Associate Attorney will also be handling municipal law matters for local municipalities.
This role is a full-time, in-person position, working out of our Goshen, NY office.
Responsibilities:
- Prioritize and manage assigned portfolio of work
- Assist clients in determining the best course of action for their case
- Communicate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently with successful outcomes
- Perform legal research
- Make court appearances as necessary
- Ensure all internal and external deadlines are met
- Accurately record and maintain billable hours
Qualifications:
- Must hold Law degree
- Must be admitted to NYS Bar Association and licensed to practice in NY
- 1-5 years of relevant legal experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Local to the Goshen, NY area or willing to relocate*
