Description:

General Info: Our office is seeking to add a third attorney to our team. We're open to both newer attorneys and seasoned professionals. The ideal candidate will be highly driven, well organized, a people person, and a team player. Our office deals with a wide array of legal matters, including divorce & family matters, juvenile cases, criminal defense, personal injury, conservatorships & guardianships, probate & estate planning, etc. This means that our ideal attorney must be capable and comfortable dealing with people from all walks of life and circumstances. Good client communication, attention to detail, a professional appearance, and a nonjudgmental attitude are essential.

Responsibilities: This position will require the applicant to travel and represent our clients in our local courts. We represent clients in Maury County and all counties that touch Maury County. The primary focus of the applicant's legal practice will be representing clients in family and juvenile matters, unless the attorney already has significant experience in a different practice area that the office can leverage.

Our office is open to mentoring a less experienced associate, but also expects the applicant to put forth significant effort to learn quickly and hit the ground running. The applicant will answer phones, answer e-mails, conduct client intake and interviews, draft motions and pleadings, appear in court, conduct discovery, assist with case reviews, and try cases. If the chosen candidate is a new attorney, then they will begin working simpler cases (with guidance from our other attorneys) as soon as they are hired. This means that the ideal candidate must be comfortable and willing to dive right in, appear in front of judges, and begin representing our clients right away! If we find a candidate with more experience, then they will be expected to manage their caseload from start to finish.

Education / Requirements: Applicants must have passed the Tennessee bar and be admitted to practice in the State of Tennessee. Applicants must be able to travel to the local courts. Writing samples will be required along with a resume for your application to be considered.
