A Law Firm is seeking an associate lawyer looking to gain experience with seasoned and accomplished lawyers in its real estate practice. Ideal candidates will have 3-6 years of experience and are interested in opportunities for personal growth and career progression. This position is based in the Charleston, West Virginia office.Much of the work for this position involves acquisition, disposition, and development of industrial and commercial sites as well as retail development. Experience with land title searches and preparation of related documents is necessary, as well as experience in performing real estate closings. Experience in working with retail and commercial leases, land leases, contract issues, royalty claims, rights of way, mineral trespass, and dominant estate claims is helpful.
Successful candidates will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to think on your feet and respond appropriately. Along with those skills, the ability to reason and influence through written and oral communication will serve candidates well. Candidates should be able to work independently as well as with a team. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to business development and be willing to be involved in the community and regional industry groups. Candidates must possess an active West Virginia Bar License.
