As the Associate Attorney for A Bankruptcy & Creditors Law Firm, you'll represent our clients in District of Columbia court hearings, mediations, and oversight of work product by staff. Our goal is to help you become a well-rounded attorney that can effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and the court.
Job Description:
- Advise and represent clients in default related services including foreclosure, evictions and bankruptcy
- Review, prepare, and file legal documents
- Conduct basic court hearings in District of Columbia
- Communicate with our clients, colleagues, courts, and others involved in the case
- Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for business clients
- Work extensively with staff to meet deadlines and client requirements
- Attend court hearings and mediations
- Prioritize and manage an assigned case load, while demonstrating attention to detail
- Develop and share subject matter expertise with internal and external clients to move files and achieve client goals
Qualifications:
- JD Degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice and in good standing in DC; Maryland bar a plus
- Title knowledge preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to balance and prioritize a high volume workload
