Description:

Creditors' rights law firm seeks an attorney with experience representing creditors and/or debtors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases. Position requires client contact and a high-volume workload. License to practice law in Florida preferred but firm will consider license in other states.

Basic Function:
Primarily manages bankruptcy matters that are considered contested or litigated, draft and review all pleadings and claims filed in the particular matter; responds to all objections and motions involving the rights of clients; attends scheduled hearings; responds to general firm wide bankruptcy inquiries; and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
  • Document preparation and execution
  • Draft and review all filings on behalf of the clients
  • Monitoring of all electronic filings (ECFs)
  • Regular communication with the client

Required Skills:
  • Knowledge of bankruptcy rules/laws and general creditor rights laws
  • Advanced computer literacy and the ability to learn and utilize different case management systems
  • Familiarity with CM/ECF filing system
  • Exceptional work ethic and high degree of professionalism
  • High level of attention to detail and organization
  • Effective time management
  • Communication skills

Education:
Law degree – JD

Experience:
The ideal candidate has at least one year of bankruptcy and/or creditor's rights experience with a working knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code. However, the firm may consider a candidate with less experience.
