Job Overview:
A Creditors Rights and Business Law Firm is a creditors rights and business law firm focusing primarily on commercial and consumer collections. STLLP is headquartered in N. Bethesda, MD, with offices located in the Washington, DC, Richmond, VA, Los Angeles, CA, and Fort Lauderdale, FL metropolitan areas. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maryland barred Attorney (and Virginia a plus) to join our legal team. There is an immediate opening for a Maryland barred Attorney to work out of the firm's Washington, D.C. metro area office location, situated conveniently near a Red Line metro station.

The ideal candidate must have strong organizational skills, excellent writing and communication abilities, and great attention to detail. They must also have the ability to independently manage large case-loads and negotiate settlements on behalf of clients. Litigation experience is helpful but not a must. Compensation will depend on relevant experience and knowledge.

Responsibilities:
  • Review (and occasionally draft) legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist in negotiations and litigation processes, leveraging premium skills in negotiation and litigation to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Utilize strong writing skills to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.
  • Apply organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced law office environment.
  • Utilize legal administrative experience to support the smooth operation of the law office and assist in case management.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure compliance with legal procedures and ethical standards.
  • Continuously update knowledge of laws and regulations to provide informed legal advice and representation.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice law in Maryland
  • Previous experience in a law firm or corporate legal department is a plus but not required
