Overview:
A Nationwide Consumer Debt Collection Law Firm is a mid-size multi-state creditor's rights law firm representing many large banking institutions and credit issuers on both the secured and unsecured transactions. We are seeking an entry level attorney admitted in New York and New Jersey (can be admitted in one and pending/eligible for the other). The candidate will be trained on the New Jersey and New York court system to handle court hearings, motion practice, and learn foreclosure and collection process functions. The successful candidate will report to the Managing Attorney of New York/New Jersey and should be willing to work in multiple facets of creditor's rights.

This position offers a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and approve the filing of pleadings and other court documents on behalf of our clients
  • Advocate on behalf of client's interest in litigation
  • Appear for various court appearances and argue motions
  • Communicate with opposing counsel effectively move and/or discuss potential settlement

Qualifications:
  • New Jersey and/or New York litigation experience a plus
  • Experience in foreclosure or legal debt collection a plus.
  • Admission to practice law in the states of New Jersey and New York.
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to multi-task many matters at once.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
