About this role:
An American Multinational Financial Services Company is seeking an Assistant General Counsel- VP to join the Conduct Risk Management and Internal Investigations section of the Employment and Investigations Division. This section supports the Company's Sales Practices Conduct Management and Conduct Risk functions, providing legal support for the conduct functions within the Company, including ethics, insider threat, sales practices, and allegations. In addition, the Section leads privileged, conduct-related internal investigations for the Legal Department, and serves as the legal liaison for the Company's Enterprise Investigations unit.

This position will focus on managing the internal investigations portfolio of matters.

In this role, you will:
  • Conduct though, objective, and efficient privileged internal investigations, which include the identification of possible root causes, control enhancements, customer impacts, policy violations, and employee accountability
  • Provide day-to-day legal support for An American Multinational Financial Services Company Enterprise Investigations team on investigation-related issues and topics
  • Follow and ensure consistent application of Company and Legal Department policies and procedures, including those related to conduct programs
  • Assist with the implementation of planned technology improvements to reduce manual processes
  • Drive operational excellence, including workforce management, time allocation, modernized programs, and other quality and efficiency-related initiatives
  • Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including more experienced managers
  • Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners, and peers associated with conduct investigations or affected by its outcomes

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States

Desired Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience conducting, managing, and overseeing employment and/or conduct-related internal investigations
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and exercise exceptional judgment in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Expertise advising business leaders on complex legal issues related to employee and company conduct
  • Ability to analyze legal and regulatory issues in area of practice and provide effective advice to clients on complex legal matters
  • Extensive experience conducting research and providing counsel and guidance regarding complex legal issues
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple matters
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex environment with a high degree of collaboration
  • Effective in building partnerships, functioning well with project teams, and working for the success of the team
