If you believe in real criminal justice reform and the core values of fairness, honesty, and integrity, come join our team. The Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney for Prince William County, Cities of Manassas & Manassas Park is looking for Assistant Commonwealth's Attorneys.

About the role:
This position reviews cases prior to arraignment and determines if a case needs to be assigned or if diversion or jail waiver are appropriate, including Drug Court. And acts as the liaison for outside agencies that assist in the preparation of these dockets. Trial practice includes representing the Commonwealth at arraignments, motions dockets, substantial risk petitions, and expungements. Duties also include serving as “Duty Attorney” and responding to calls and questions from citizens, police officers, and defense attorneys on a rotating basis.

Preferences:
Position requires Juris Doctorate degree and 2 years of related experience. Some experience as a criminal prosecutor or criminal defense is preferred, but not required. We seek a candidate that works cooperatively with the police departments in our jurisdiction, can manage a large caseload, has a zealous work ethic and proven ability to work with a team. Excellent legal research and writing skills.

Special Requirements:
Must be a member of the Virginia State Bar in good standing.
