Responsibilities and practice:
The Des Moines office of Dentons Davis Brown is seeking an associate with excellent academic credentials and 3-6 years of legal experience to join our transaction & securities practice. The person hired for this position will work closely with shareholders to assume such responsibilities as:
  • Contributing to the coordination and execution of successful corporate transactions, including securities offerings, mergers, acquisitions, and joint-ventures
  • Assisting with securities law compliance
  • Performing due diligence
  • Participating in negotiations
  • Drafting and reviewing transaction documents

Personal skills/attributes:
  • Has excellent written communications skills and an ability to produce written work product that is concise and effective
  • Displays excellent interpersonal skills
  • Has strong analytical skills and can offer unique perspectives on complex issues
  • Is organized and efficient with disciplined time management skills
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and works effectively under pressure
  • Is a self-starter who understands business objectives

Technical skills:
  • 3-6 years of legal practice is required
  • Experience drafting key legal documents for corporate transactional matters is preferred

Other Requirements
  • Should be licensed to practice law in the relevant state of hire, and be in good standing
