Description:
The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) is a national, non-profit resource center that provides legal trainings, educational materials, and advocacy to advance immigrant rights. Every day, our team steps up to protect and defend the rights of immigrants and their families, so that they may stay in the United States and thrive. The ILRC works with and educates immigrants, community organizations, and the legal sector to continue to build a democratic society that values diversity and the rights of all people. Our primary practice areas include: citizenship; the intersection between immigration and criminal law; remedies for immigrant children and youth; removal defense; family-based relief; immigration enforcement; remedies for victims of crimes; and asylum law.

Law clerks will be assigned to a variety of projects and supervised by an ILRC attorney. Assignments span the ILRC's diverse project areas including policy, legal trainings, and immigrant civic engagement. For example, last year’s intern projects included research and writing for ILRC’s practice advisories and manuals widely used by immigration practitioners; community engagement and community presentations; and work on implementing laws authored and co-sponsored by the ILRC. Each clerk is assigned an ILRC mentor attorney and the summer program includes immigration law trainings created especially for our law clerks.
