You will interview, counsel, and advise clients regarding benefits available to them under the current immigration law. You will inform clients of all requirements for the benefit sought and prepare clients’ cases for submission to Federal Government immigration agencies. You will inform clients of legal requirements for benefits sought, expenses related to applying for the benefit and timeframes.
You will represent clients before the Dallas Immigration Court and the Dallas office of the Department of Homeland Security.
You will provide outreach throughout the target area to identify clients and to provide direct legal aid and other outreach events as needed.
Juris Doctor from accredited law school
Active bar license in any state. (Texas preferred)
Immigration training provided for continuing legal education
Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
Ability to effectively interact with individuals from diverse cultures and ethnicities
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills required
Excellent public speaking skills in English and Spanish
Excellent advocacy skills
Computer literate and experience with MS Office suite of products; spreadsheets and organizational tool experience is helpful
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Catholic Charities Dallas offers a variety of benefits to our staff including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Paid Time Off (PTO) allows employees the flexibility to take time off as they need and we have a generous holiday schedule. This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $52,500 to $55,000, based on skills and experience.
