We’re currently seeking a Staff Attorney to join our Headquarters team!
Staff Attorney works at the supervision of the General Counsel on all company legal matters with primary focus on Employment Law, Litigation and Compliance. This position classified as a salaried, exempt role.
What you will do:
Provide quick, concise, and commercially-focused legal advice relating to all US employment-related laws and legal issues, including but not limited to FLSA, Title VII, FMLA, ADA, and ADEA
Ensure compliance with state and federal employment and labor laws, company policies, directives and operating procedures, including, but not limited to, discipline, performance management, reorganizations, leaves of absence, accommodations, wage and hour issues, terminations, compliance training, background checks, non-compete matters, contingent workforce issues, by serving as legal business partner to Human Resources professionals and Operations management
Manage federal and state litigation, administrative agency proceedings (e.g., EEOC, DOL, etc.), and arbitrations involving employment law matters, including management of outside counsel
Conduct ongoing management training regarding employee relations best practices, investigation techniques, and compliance
Develop company policies and procedures collaboratively with other internal departments
How You Will Shine:
D. degree; admitted to practice law and in good standing in Arizona, preferably, or other state
Minimum three years’ experience practicing law, preferably in large, law firm or in-house department
Demonstrated expertise of employment law with litigation experience preferred; transaction, real property and organization law experience desirable
Strong academic background and excellent writing, contract drafting, communication, project management and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to operate with a high level of independence, proactively identify potential legal and business risks, balance multiple business demands, and work collaboratively with colleagues
Excellent skills and experience with managing stakeholders outside of reporting lines.
Dedication to client service, ability to think in complex and ever-changing situations, ability to solve problems, and execute and transfer knowledge
Hard working and acts with a sense of urgency to accomplish key objectives with overlapping timelines
Willingness to travel as needed
