Description:
For over three decades, Professional National Title Network (PNTN) has been committed to the proposition that consumers are best protected by a legal opinion on title as an integral part of attorney representation of home sellers/purchasers. As we move forward to continued growth, we are searching for a Staff Attorney to enhance our Legal Department. The individual in this role will provide support to ensure efficient and successful closings from production through underwriting, title clearance and escrow closing for single and multi-site commercial real estate transactions while providing customers and title and escrow staff with timely answers to title underwriting and escrow issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Title examinations of residential and commercial closings
  • Follow underwriting standards when making decisions related to title clearance matters
  • Follow best practices in relation to the functions of the title agency
  • Provide support as needed to all departments and closings
  • Communicate effectively, proactively, and be a leader by example
  • Represent and participate in industry associations on behalf of the company, such as ILTA and IRELA
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned

Position Requirements:
  • Law degree from an accredited law school; Currently licensed as an attorney in good standing in the State of Illinois
  • Well-rounded knowledge of residential and commercial title principles and practices including knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, title insurance regulations, and agency rules affecting the title industry
  • 3+ years of relevant legal experience in real estate preferred
  • Experience with corporate governance (Leases, LLC’s, agreements, etc.) is highly desired
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Strong computer skills to include experience with Microsoft Office
  • Must have a strong academic record and excellent written and oral communication skills
