Staff Attorney, Compliance

We’re currently seeking a Staff Attorney, Compliance to join our Headquarters team!

The Staff Attorney, Compliance heads the compliance function within the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Team, under the supervision of General Counsel/Compliance Officer. This position is actively responsible for assessing legal risk regarding, and providing advice and tools to ensure, regulatory compliance of business operations for publicly traded company operating across United States.

What you will do:
  • Provide compliance guidance on cross-functional projects and initiatives across multiple levels of HQ and field management
  • Work closely with other members of GRC team to ensure consistent messaging
  • Develop with SMEs corporate compliance-related policies and procedures
  • Administer policy management system, utilizing workflows to ensure policies are correctly drafted, reviewed, approved, and distributed
  • Develop and deliver compliance-related training materials
  • Develop and maintain corporate compliance audit and investigation program
  • Provide legal advice to and oversee compliance of license and permitting program
  • Identify and maintain knowledge base of existing and emerging regulations, standards, or guidance documents
  • Recommend changes to company procedures in response to changes in regulations or standards
  • Obtain and distribute updated information regarding laws, regulations, or standards
  • Monitor whistleblower hotline, escalate issues to proper department and/or supervisors, prepare reports to senior management and board of directors

How you will shine:
  • J.D. degree; admitted to practice law and in good standing in Arizona, preferably, or other state
  • Certification as Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP-I) preferred
  • Experience with NAVEX Ethics Hotline system preferred
  • Experience with policy development and management preferred
  • Prior experience in researching, developing and recommending strategic advice to companies to ensure alignment with applicable laws and regulations
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office Suite, including intermediate to advanced Excel Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple departments and manage multiple projects and tasks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
