Job Summary: Syneos Health is looking for a talented, commercially minded and proactive lawyer with strong transactional skills to partner with our data analytics teams. You will serve as our lead counsel for data rights and usage matters. You will partner with our business colleagues and our legal, compliance and privacy teams to facilitate design, analysis and support of data analytics efforts across the organization. You will also work to drive continuous improvements, scalability and operational excellence in supporting these initiatives. The successful candidate will find the breadth of responsibilities incredibly exciting. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in the corporate department at a top-tier law firm.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with our business teams developing new products and services.
Advise Syneos Health data analytics teams on design and implementation of new products, services and data efforts worldwide, including digital technologies.
Review and assist in negotiation of vendor data agreements.
Coordinate within the Office of General Counsel regarding data analytics matters and lead associated workstreams.
Develop tools and databases to assist with efficient review of data usage proposals.
Work closely with and train cross-functional teams in support of new initiatives to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations across the company.
Manage external counsel in accordance with outside counsel guidelines.
Support the Syneos Health ‘Mission, Vision and Values’.
Completion of law school with a Juris Doctor degree and admission to the bar and in good standing in at least one jurisdiction in the United States.
At least five years of experience with a top tier national or international law firm and experience working with technology, data rights and privacy issues.
8+ years of experience transactional experience with data rights and solid working knowledge of global data privacy issues.
Strong track record advising on global, complex technology and data rights transactions required; experience with the pharmaceutical or life sciences industries preferred.
Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
Ability to collaborate with colleagues and take a business-oriented approach while identifying and balancing legal risks and providing succinct, accurate and pragmatic advice.
Exceptional analytical skills, independent judgment, a desire to learn, and an ability to take on and prioritize a wide variety of complex matters.
Outstanding relationship-building skills.
Can-do attitude, able to work under pressure, tight deadlines and to manage the expectations of clients.
