Description:
Position Summary
Perform a variety of more complex or specialized legal activities in accordance with the established standards of the legal profession to protect the organization's reputation and business interests and help ensure it complies with all relevant laws and regulations. Provide legal advice within area of expertise to area managers to ensure their activities, policies, business practices, and transactions comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

Essential Tasks
  • Oversee litigation when it arises.
  • Draft, negotiate, review, and communicate agreements, documents, and policies.
  • Advise all departments on legal norms, restrictions, and policies.
  • Supervise technology and documentation processes.
  • Providing broad-based legal and consultative advice, problem-solving, counseling, and education to internal clients and business units on legal issues and regulatory rules
  • Guiding and raising awareness of applicable legal issues and assisting the business units in understanding and satisfying applicable compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting legal and factual research related to client requests and initiatives.
  • Working with regulators such as the Department of Labor, Department of the Treasury, IRS and SEC in connection with subpoenas, inquiries, comment on pending regulations and other matters.
  • Working with and managing the department’s use of outside counsel.
  • Maintaining a high level of expertise with legal, regulatory and industry developments.
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with business unit and legal department senior management, clients and other internal support functions.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, or equivalent experience with the company.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced analytical and practical problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills; deadline oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and think strategically.
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to work well under pressure and adapt in a changing environment.
