The Office of the Attorney General is seeking applicants for the position of Senior Counsel for Litigation in its Higher Education Division, which represents Maryland's public higher education institutions and various related agencies in litigation in state and federal courts and in matters before state and federal administrative agencies.
Responsibilities will include preparing and litigating civil cases and matters on behalf of State entities and employees to protect, assert, and/or defend the State's and represented parties' interests. The Senior Counsel will also consult with and advise other attorneys in the Division on the handling of cases and matters. Consultation will include review of civil appellate briefs and participation in moot courts.
Experience: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in litigation, including first-chair trial and appellate experience in State and federal courts. Excellent research and writing skills are required. Maryland Bar membership is required.
