The role of Privacy Counsel will be to assist the company’s General Counsel in developing and implementing company strategy for analyzing applicable privacy statutes and regulations, developing compliance strategies, and communicating internally and externally regarding the company’s positions and practices.

  • Monitor existing and proposed privacy and electronic communication laws and regulations and evaluate the potential impact on the business
  • Understand company products and practices to develop compliance strategy
  • Advise business regarding new product development and company practices that impact privacy
  • Communicate regarding privacy-related practices and procedures to business units, and explain privacy practices and legal positions to clients, vendors and other external stakeholders
  • Coordinate communication with relevant trade groups and/or legislative and regulatory representatives regarding the company’s position on relevant proposed privacy laws or regulations
  • Perform other duties as requested by the company's General Counsel

  • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
  • License in good standing to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction
  • At least two years of substantive privacy law experience
  • Positive attitude, high energy, desire to grow with the business and help maximize opportunities
  • Proficiency/comfort using standard information technology
  • Experience with government affairs a plus
  • License to practice law in the State of Washington a plus
