Position Summary
The Part Time Legal Clerk will work under the direction of the General Counsel and can expect to gain excellent and diverse work experience working for a market-leading global software company. The right candidate for this position will have strong analytical skills, excellent problem solving skills, and solid interpersonal skills for customer and colleague interactions.

The Legal Clerk will work up to 20 hours per week.

  • Administrative. The Legal Clerk will need to be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Outlook, Excel; knowledge of is a plus, but if you’re sharp, you’ll be able to pick this up on the job.
  • Education. Successful completion of at least one year at an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

This position would be ideal for a current 1L law student who is seeking a part-time legal job that will provide relevant experience in corporate law.

Essential Functions:
  • Create, maintain, and update contract records for customers
  • Search for contractual provisions and obligations according to a prescribed rubric
  • Investigate issues and assist attorney in preparation of contract documents
  • Assemble, proof, and edit drafts of contracts, licenses, etc.
  • Draft legal correspondence and maintain SirsiDynix's boilerplates
  • Provide administrative support to include: performing legal research and analysis, procure signatures from Executive team, scan and file signed agreements

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to quickly and accurately identify legal and business issues and risks
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to self-motivate, problem solve, work under deadlines, and produce high quality work at volume
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well on a team
  • Ability to comfortably interact with senior management to assess contractual risks
  • Excellent negotiation skills
