CRC seeks candidates for a two-year fellowship starting in Fall 2021. Fellows are provided the opportunity to participate in substantive ways in litigation and will receive supervision from and collaborate with CRC lawyers. The fellow will be expected to apply for funding for the fellowship with the focus of the fellowship to be mutually agreed upon by CRC and the fellow. However, Civil Rights Corps will guarantee funding for the fellowship in the event that outside support is unavailable. Salary Range is $65k to $82K
Qualifications
The ideal CRC fellow is passionate about social justice, is hardworking, a fast learner, proactive, able to juggle multiple tasks, and able to work well in a collaborative environment. Specific qualifications we are looking for include: J.D. degree and the ability to be admitted to practice law in a U.S. state. Demonstrated commitment to the mission, purpose, and values of CRC. Excellent writing and research skills and the ability engage in complex legal analysis. Excellent communication and public speaking skills. Experience working with diverse populations, with those directly impacted by the criminal legal system, and on behalf of low-income clients. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, establish priorities, work independently, self- motivate, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision. Innovative thinking, an unwillingness to accept things as they are, and a strong work ethic are essential.
