This role will assist in providing advice and counsel on Americas-based HR issues and help manage Gartner’s employment and non-employment litigation portfolio. This role will also work with internal stakeholders to develop and implement solutions that maximize efficiency and help mitigate legal risk at scale.
Provide support for legal matters related to employee relations, compensation and benefits (e.g., reasonable accommodations, equal pay), ethics compliance, recruiting and hiring, investigations, COVID-19-related issues, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
Assist in managing Gartner’s Americas litigation and pre-litigation portfolio, including reviewing and revising pleadings and position statements, assisting outside counsel with discovery, responding to third party subpoenas, assisting with pre-litigation fact gathering, and helping to analyze and enforce restrictive covenants (e.g., reviewing candidate non-competition agreements, drafting cease and desist letters).
Assist in writing, reviewing, and revising company policies and procedures, and advising internal stakeholders on recommended courses of action on various HR topics and disciplines.
Proactive identification of Human Resources-related compliance issues (e.g., legislative changes), and implementation of next steps.
Assist in the development and implementation of HR and managerial training programs.
Partner with the Legal Operations team to drive advancements in tracking, reporting, automation, and other tools supporting litigation and Employee Relations matters at scale.
Work with the Office of the Ombuds on evaluating conflicts of interest, approving outside employment requests, and other matters.
Conduct legal research and succinctly synthesize findings into actionable advice.

Undergraduate and law degree required; must be member in good standing of any US Bar.
At least 3 years of employment law and litigation experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
Excellent organizational and project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to organize and present information in a concise and effective manner, in tools such as dashboards, reports, executive summaries, etc.
Ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret complex legal and employee-related documents.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Willingness to learn and become proficient in the laws and regulations of the jurisdictions and countries within the Americas in which Gartner operates.
Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with outside counsel, coworkers, and colleagues.
Ability to make reasoned decisions/recommendations and provide sound legal advice while considering the operation and needs of the business.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
