Jackpocket is the first mobile lottery app in the U.S. that offers players a secure way to order official state lottery tickets, such as Powerball, Mega Millions, and more, via their smartphones. We're creating a more convenient, fun, and responsible way to play the lottery by modernizing the $300B global lottery market with a mobile platform that everyone, including grandma, can feel good about.

As Legal Counsel you will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and reviewing legal contracts, maintaining proper corporate governance and subsidiary maintenance, and providing legal advice to various stakeholders in the company. This role will act as a resource to the General Counsel and the company for all in-house legal needs.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts
• Advising management and business units on various legal issues, including federal and state laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions
• Managing outside counsel on corporate and litigation matters
• Maintaining and growing the legal corporate structure, including subsidiary maintenance
• Provide legal support and advice across all areas of the business
• Other duties and projects assigned by the General Counsel

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate required
• Must be licensed to practice law in the State of New York, eligible for reciprocity or otherwise eligible to obtain an in-house counsel registration under 22 NYCRR 522
• 4+ years of progressive legal experience with a well-regarded law firm and/or in-house
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Desire to work with a team but also independently as needed
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Able to effectively communicate to achieve company objectives
• Must be able to meet deadlines and to work under the pressure of short time constraints
• Must be able to develop and maintain cordial and professional relationships with all levels of the business

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the gaming industry
