As Legal Counsel, you are responsible for providing legal support to An Online Library Platform’s Global Education business. You will be responsible for in-house legal matters including drafting agreements, addressing compliance issues, and participating in negotiation discussions.

How you will make an impact:

• Review, draft and negotiate template and non-templated agreements and related documents across all An Online Library Platform businesses
• Conduct due diligence on acquisitions and draft and negotiate related agreements
• Provide legal advice to support business operations on a wide variety of contact, intellectual property, corporate and privacy issues
• Support compliance with contract workflows and legal guidelines by developing and delivering educational and training materials to clients and developing and maintaining contracts playbooks
• Develop template agreements
• Engage in dispute resolution

We are looking for people who:

• J.D. or LLM with NY or NJ bar admission
• 3+ years of law firm experience drafting contracts for commercial transactions
• Fluent and/or full professional proficiency in French
• Experience with international contracts law, copyright, licensing, or publishing a plus
• Contract drafting skills
• Commercial transaction experience with a focus on IP
• Strong experience with MS Office and other collaborative platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, advanced business acumen
• Ability to negotiation and influence
• Someone who simplifies the complex
