THINK Surgical is looking for a highly motivated lawyer to join its in-house legal team and support its rapidly-growing global business. The role will need an individual with a strong transactional background to ensure that contracts protect THINK Surgical's interests and advance the Company's success. This lawyer will be responsible for all aspects of the contracting process. As part of a small legal team, this lawyer will work closely with the Chief Legal Officer and contribute at every level. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in all legal aspects of a growing medical device company. This lawyer must be able to think creatively and provide solution-oriented advice.
Develop and maintain strong internal working relationships across THINK Surgical.
Understand the objectives, responsibilities, and mission of the Legal Department and work towards those goals.
Prioritize and plan work activities; adapt for changing conditions.
Draft, negotiate, approve, and advise on a wide range of commercial and other contracts, including customer/sales agreements, distributor agreements, supplier agreements, other general corporate and business contracts, clinical study agreements and related documents, marketing and advertising agreements, license agreements, and employee related agreements.
Provide counsel on commercial, regulatory, and general corporate legal issues.
Research commercial, regulatory and other general corporate issues.
Develop standard agreements, processes, policies, training, and strategies.
Provide due diligence for corporate and other business activities.
Support training and guidance to employees on legal issues, best practices and company policies.
Coordinate litigation and other legal matters handled by outside counsel.
Perform other commercial general legal duties as assigned.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications: Required Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
4+ years of legal experience
Licensed to practice law from the CA State Bar Association
Must be willing to work in-office (not remote)
Solid background in reviewing, drafting and negotiating complex agreements
Self-motivated with an ability to multi-task and deliver outstanding work product; while managing a high volume of assignments with varying priorities
Business-savvy, creative approach to problem-solving; capable of devising legal solutions in novel and pragmatic ways
Willingness to master new and unfamiliar areas of practice. Legal knowledge related to any of the following is a plus: medical devices, healthcare, manufacture, supply, and data privacy
Accustomed to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment with the ability to constantly reprioritize
Ability to efficiently handle and organize multiple projects at a time
Willingness to roll up your sleeves, get into the legal nitty gritty, and tackle legal problems of all sizes
Strong, organizational skills and attention to detail
Skilled at developing strong internal and external working relationships
Excellent interpersonal skills, business judgment, and strategic thinking
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; effectively communicate complex ideas or legal concepts in an easy to understand manner through all levels and functions of the Company
Positive work ethic and dedication to improving professional service to all of the Company's constituents
3+ years legal experience in medical device or health care
