We have an immediate opening in our Denver office for a Labor & Employment Associate with a minimum of five years of experience in Colorado employment law. Comprehensive experience with federal and state employment law claims is required. Ideal candidates will be well-versed in federal and Colorado rules of civil procedure and have a strong understanding of federal and Colorado specific employment laws, particularly recently enacted legislation. The candidate should have a background in all major areas of employment law, including wage and hour, discrimination and retaliation, leave, workplace safety, and restrictive covenants. Candidates need to be comfortable advising clients on day to day employment issues and be able to provide guidance and strategy to clients quickly.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the state and federal courts in Colorado and significant experience with all stages of employment litigation, including before the Colorado Civil Rights Division, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and other agencies. The candidate should be able to take the lead on smaller matters with limited supervision and take a leadership role on more substantive matters. Trial or arbitration experience is a plus. Deposition, substantive pleading, discovery dispute, dispositive motion, and electronic discovery experience are required.
The ideal candidate will have an excellent academic record, solid writing skills, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a team, superior judgment, the ability to effectively handle multiple projects, the ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action, and a commitment to the community. Candidates should have a Colorado bar license or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible.
