Insurance defense firm located in Phoenix near the Biltmore is currently looking for an experienced Litigation Attorney. The ideal candidate has 4 of insurance defense or personal injury experience. The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for their own caseload from pre-trial litigation including case evaluation from initial assignment through trial and post-trial procedures.

We specialize in insurance defense litigation, including general liability, personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, and construction defect. The firm also supports subrogation law, municipal law, and general business litigation and transactions.

  • Researches laws and prepares legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
  • Renders opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the claims department
  • Prepares and handles pleadings, motions, and discovery, to include depositions/examinations before trial and oath
  • Defends by trial, arbitration, or mediation all matters assigned, as applicable
  • Manager matters from commencement to final resolution
  • Under general supervision, defends lawsuits against insureds and represents in subrogation, uninsured and underinsured motorist

  • Excellent research, writing and oral communication skills
  • Strong organization and matter management skills essential
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work professionally and effectively with our customers

  • Demonstrated success in account relationship management or similar customer facing role
  • Courtroom experience a plus
  • Civil litigation experience
  • Construction defect, general liability, or personal injury experience a plus

Must be admitted and in good standing with Arizona Bar. JD required.

Must be able to travel as required, including, to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings and conferences. Must be able to, with or without accommodation, perform the essential functions which include, but are not limited to seeing, hearing, typing, speaking, bending, reaching, lifting and standing for extended amounts of time. Must be able to access and utilize multiple pieces of office equipment that may require simultaneous use. Must be able to speak in a clear, empathic and professional manner by telephone and email. Must be able to document files in a clear, concise, professional written manner, to be understood by customers, clients, co-workers and other employees of the organization. Must be able to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization/priority setting and multi-tasking skills. Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information. Must have the following education and experience: license in good standing to practice law in applicable jurisdictions
