Employment ImmigrationExp.: 2+ Years
Our firm is seeking a part-time or contract immigration attorney to assist with case processing. There is considerable room for negotiation on compensation depending on experience and the number of hours the applicant can commit to the position. Remote/work-from-home options are available. Applicants do need to reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The role may develop into a full-time position in the future depending on the needs of the firm and the desires of the selected applicant.
Duties may include:
Review of USCIS applications including family-based submissions, I-601/601A waivers, VAWA/U Visa, EAD applications, etc.
Attendance at USCIS interviews and INFOPASS appointments
Immigration court appearances (generally for master calendar hearings only, though merits hearings appearances may be available as well)
Drafting and review of motions, briefs, and appeals in removal proceedings.
Requirements: Must be a barred attorney with at least 2 years of family-based and/or removal defense experience. This position is not suitable for paralegals or those still awaiting bar results.
Preferred but not required:
Employment-based immigration experience
Experience with family court aspect of Special Immigrant Juvenile cases
Experience with federal district court cases including mandamus, APA, or habeas corpus.
