USC's Office of the General Counsel provides legal services to USC and certain of its subsidiaries and affiliates.
Currently, we are seeking a Graduate Legal Fellow for a one (1) year fixed-term opportunity to work directly in the Office of the General Counsel.
This position is open to 2020 law school graduates and will be responsible for providing legal support services to university clients on the University Park and Health Sciences campuses, including contract workflow management and processing, contract review and drafting, legal research as well as other legal matters based on client needs. Types of contracts include purchase of goods or services, institutional affiliation, clinical placements, intellectual property licensing as well as other areas, including contracts that support the university’s health care operations. Perform legal and other research in support of various issues and inquires as they arise. Work with supervising attorneys in conducting diligence and servicing clients on various matters.

- Professional attitude and demeanor when dealing with clients and office staff.
- Respects confidentiality and sensitive information.
- Interest or experience in health care law is a plus.

Minimum Education: J.D. Minimum Experience: 1 Year Minimum Field of Experience: J.D. and up to one (1) year of legal experience. Experience in business transactions, contract drafting and review desired, but resourcefulness and motivation are highly valued. Superior legal research and writing skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge of relevant federal, state and local laws and regulations.
