Description:Casual/Part time position for an experienced attorney primarily supporting the Supply Chain Management organization.
The position is located in Fort Worth, TX, and reports to the Global Transactions & Compliance group within the Aeronautics Legal Department.
Major responsibilities will include conducting legal research and generally providing legal support to attorneys and other company personnel for a wide array of legal matters, including supplier performance, cost or pricing data issues, remedies, commercial item determinations, and subcontract negotiations.
Activities include supporting domestic and international procurements under government and commercial contracts, compliance with applicable laws and regulations and generally mitigating legal risk in domestic and international transactions.
The position also involves the development and oversight of training of personnel on legal and contract considerations. This position requires a person with business oriented analytical, verbal and written skills.
S/he will work closely with corporate and local management as well as with business ventures/contracts and subcontract management personnel to help develop the appropriate agreements, documentation, policies and strategies to ensure program and business success.
This position will have some responsibility for outside counsel (domestic and international), and will coordinate activities with the Aeronautics legal team, both at Fort Worth and other locations.
This attorney must demonstrate superior judgment and work product for matters of significant complexity.
This attorney must be a self-starter and able to work autonomously. Outstanding written and verbal skills are essential.
MUST BE A US CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
JD degree from an accredited law school.
Admitted to practice law in at least one state.
Experience with procurement contracts and policies and federal acquisition regulations.
Experience with the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC),
Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS),
experience investigations, bankruptcy/insolvency,
international contracting and aerospace or defense industry.
