Pichardo Immigration Associates is seeking an experienced attorney to join our team in our Hartford and Waterbury, Connecticut offices.
The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in immigration law. The attorney will be responsible for managing a caseload consisting of removal matters, as well as family based immigration matters. This position entails a high degree of responsibility since the candidate will also manage and supervise paralegals and attorneys.
Candidates should possess detailed knowledge of forms of relief such as Cancellation of Removal, Waivers of Inadmissibility, Asylum/Withholding and CAT before EOIR and be comfortable handling master and individual hearings in these cases. Candidates should also have experience representing individuals before USCIS in Applications for Adjustment of Status and Naturalizations and preparing clients for interviews. The position will also require strong writing and analytical skills in the preparation of appeal briefs and motions to reconsider/reopen to the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Administrative Appeals Office.
The candidate must possess excellent research, writing and communication skills, and must be prepared to work both independently and collaboratively on a variety of substantive matters. The candidate must feel comfortable representing clients in court. Fluency in Spanish/Portuguese a plus.
Required License: Admission to any State Bar, must be in good standing.
