Description:
As our Employment Counsel, you will advise Redesign Health and early stage operating companies on business critical talent and employment issues and scale our processes so that we can provide best-in-class employment counsel to our 20 (and counting) operating companies.

You will report to our Deputy General Counsel and work with our legal team at our New York City headquarters (or remotely).

What you'll do:
Work with the Redesign Health Talent and People Team
  • Provide practical and strategic business-focused advice to all stakeholders on wide variety of employment law issues, including relating to performance management, compensation, employee benefits, accommodations, leaves of absence, diversity and inclusion, employment classification, independent contractors and other related matters.
  • Draft and negotiate employment-related agreements, guidelines and policies, and compensation and benefit plans.
  • Assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of corporate policies and procedures as needed.
  • Assist with and manage employment-related disputes and investigations and develop creative approaches to managing employee-related legal risks.
  • Manage outside counsel on employment law issues.

Support our Portfolio Companies
  • Create templates for standard offer letters, employment agreements, separation agreements, compensation and benefit plans and other employment related contracts requested by OpCos.
  • Design, build and improve employment law processes and procedures with an emphasis on scalability, including implementing guidelines, policies and procedures and creating playbooks for common employment law processes.

What you'll need:
Background:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant law experience in a major law firm or in-house legal environment.
  • Employment law counseling experience in a variety of complex employment matters.
  • License to practice law in New York or California, or other states with major cities, with a willingness to become licensed in NY or CA.
