Position Details:
Join our Electronics Group and bring your current scientific expertise to bear on the legal problems and matters of our clients. Our Patent Agents work on matters involving cutting-edge technologies and legal issues demanded by a broad range of innovative individuals and companies. Our firm is among the first to see the newest developments in a number of technological areas, including: blockchain, bioinformatics, robotics, aeronautics, wireless communications, semiconductors, nanotechnology, optics, lasers and LEDs, software and apps, networking, computer security, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, among other things. As a Patent Agent at Sterne Kessler, you will be involved with a wide variety of work, including: patent preparation and prosecution, portfolio management, strategic analysis, client counseling, and opinion work.

Additionally, Sterne Kessler offers a robust professional development program that includes one-on-one, group, and external training courses to help you build, maintain and fine tune fundamental knowledge and writing skills.

Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering
  • Semiconductor industry experience
  • Prior experience in patent prosecution
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Licensed to practice before the USPTO (if you are not currently licensed, but you meet the qualifications for this position, we encourage you to apply for our Technical Specialist position)
