We are looking for a talented in-house attorney interested in a unique hybrid operational and legal role with Inc. Magazine’s #1 fastest growing private company in the U.S. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working on a wide variety of human resources and legal projects. This is a full time position, with flexibility around location, although Phoenix is preferred. You will:
  • Work closely with Freestar’s President (a former attorney) to serve all of the company’s human resources and legal needs
  • Responsible for developing policies and procedures that adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements for a multi-state company
  • Provide senior leadership to recruit the best talent to fulfill our mission, working closely with others to develop a passionate, smart and healthy organization
  • Advise senior management on changes to employment laws and implement policies, procedures and systems to improve efficiency
  • Facilitate human resources programs and community involvement initiatives that enhance inclusiveness and diversity, linking development and leadership initiatives to business strategy and measurable results
  • Assist with the company’s day-to-day legal matters, including the drafting, review and negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements
  • Support strategic and tactical planning of our business, including establishing and enforcing best practices and policies, training and risk mitigation

  • 4 to 8 years’ experience as an attorney at a large, nationally or regionally recognized law firm or equivalent in-house counsel experience
  • Knowledge of employment law
  • Hands-on experience negotiating and drafting contracts strongly preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a good sense of humor
  • Strong academic record
  • Licensed to practice in at least one state

Bachelors Degree and JD required
