NVIDIA is looking to hire a Director of Global Trade Compliance to lead our worldwide Trade Compliance team in Santa Clara, CA. It will report directly to the EVP and General Counsel. In this role you will be working directly with NVIDIA business unit leads, legal, PR, Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Finance as you will be setting policy, providing counsel, and coordinating worldwide activities involved in import and export regulatory compliance. You will interact with regulatory agencies such as the Department of Commerce and the Department of Defense to help NVIDIA acquire licenses and/or CCATS.

NVIDIA’s Legal Department operates at the intersection of law and technology. We provide legal solutions impacting some of the most important trends in technology, including graphics, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing. As a team, we engage with engineers and management on a vast array of legal issues across the world.

What you'll be doing:
  • You will be responsible for setting policy, providing counsel and coordinating all activities involved in export/import regulatory compliance including, but not limited to, export and import regulations. Lead both import (customs clearance, audits, classification, valuation) and export (screening resolution, HTS and ECCN determination) to help support and back up multiple areas. Growth in support of other regions around the world in which NVIDIA does business. Additionally, you will hold responsibility for customs-related operations worldwide, and establish annual export/import budget. Position reports to EVP and General Counsel

What we need to see:
  • Law Degree, with experience in export/import compliance and custom-related operations
  • 10+ overall years experience in compliance management with 5+ years of demonstrated experience managing compliance activities in a multi-national company
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills with demonstrated ability to bring together multiple diverse stakeholders to achieve objectives required
  • Experience working with senior management and ability to work well with and relate to company personnel at all levels
  • Strong customer focus and support
  • Ability to apply government regulatory requirements in complex scenarios
  • Skilled at developing and leading high-performance teams
  • Global mindset with proven ability to partner cross culturally
  • Excellent organizational, priority management and planning skills
  • Ability to think creatively, function independent and work proactively, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
