Responsible for providing legal guidance and support to all levels of management with regards to area of legal specialty.
Provides legal counsel and support to one or more business units and/or the corporate headquarters. Counsels on a broad range of legal issues related to assigned area(s).Provides leadership in one or more legal specialties and disseminates information on trends and innovations within the specialty.Engages and directs outside counsel to undertake specific and complex work requiring the application of highly specialized legal knowledge.Represents Company with respect to threatened litigation and analyzes claims or threats of litigation.Manages litigation with outside counsel, including review of pleadings and case strategy.May oversee the completion of projects including planning; assigning and monitoring; reviewing progress and accuracy of work; evaluating results etc.Leads and provides guidance to legal staff including junior Attorneys, Paralegals and administrative staff, as required.Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Providing legal guidance on the company’s privacy and information security programs and providing support for their implementation, maintenance and compliance throughout the organization. Advising on legal and regulatory developments impacting data privacy and data security, including identifying trends and potential impacts on the business’s risk management activities.Guiding business leaders and effectively counseling multiple business partners on data privacy and data security legal requirements for new products and services for all of Comcast Cable's core services, include video, phone, broadband, and mobile, as well as any new products or features of those products.Draft and negotiate data processing and transfer agreements, as well as other data privacy and security terms of commercial agreements.Assist in the creation and maintenance of data inventories and records of processing and associated documentation relating to processing of data.Oversee and provide guidance on responding to individual rights requests under evolving legislation in accordance with established internal processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory timelines.Carry out Privacy Impact Assessments.Help create and maintain internal and external-facing privacy notices, consents, and opt-out processes.Manage response on complaints concerning the organization’s privacy policies and proceduresLead awareness and training efforts as needed and/or required to increase employee understanding of company privacy policies, data handling practices and procedures, and legal obligations.Solid understanding of technologies associated with collection, processing, transfer and storage of personal data, including digital advertising technologies.
