The Deputy General Counsel - Operations is an experienced member of the General Counsel’s global senior leadership team. The successful candidate will manage a large and diverse team of attorneys to provide support for the corporate and transactional needs of C&W’s regions and service lines globally as well as litigation and HR related issues. This position will also be responsible for providing ad hoc assistance on special and significant projects as they may arise at the direction of the General Counsel.
The successful candidate will have 15+ years of legal experience with management responsibilities from both AMLAW 100 law firms and in-house environments. This role requires a strategic thought leader who can manage the technical legal advice required to efficiently and effectively support the business as well as serve as a counselor and partner to key business stakeholders. Demonstrated experience supporting sophisticated businesses during periods of transformational change is critical.
Job Description Essential functions and responsibilities
Oversee the regional and service line legal teams to support business initiatives as well as litigation and HR functions.
Manage the effective, efficient, and productive execution of core transactional work across all regions and service lines
Provide comprehensive legal support for in-region M&A transactions and strategic investments
Manage global litigation from a process and efficiency standpoint
Partner with HR on initiatives and programs.
Work seamlessly with the Legal senior leadership team on department-wide initiatives
Experience managing diverse legal teams based in multiple locations

Ability to be productive in stressful, time-sensitive situations and fast-paced environments
Strong analytical skills
Demonstrated “executive presence” with deep experience advising and interacting with C-suite level executives and directors
Exceptional organizational, writing and communication skills
15+ years of relevant transactional and operational experience
M&A experience in private practice and/or in-house
Established ability to build internal relationships across geographies and service lines
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Law Degree from an accredited law school and state bar admission required
