Job Summary
The Corporate Counsel-North America will be responsible for establishing the legal function for the North America region, supporting and advancing, the company’s strategic initiatives and growth plans.

The Corporate Counsel will provide legal support in a variety of areas such as drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, legal/business entity formation, employment law, corporate governance, and compliance, in a complex, diverse and regionally dispersed organization. The ideal candidate will be looking to build on existing strengths, in one or more of these areas, to quickly develop a broad range of legal and business expertise to support an established and growing hydraulics lifting solutions company.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (labor law, business formation, corporate finance, commercial activities, etc.)
  • Apply internal governance policies and regularly monitor and report compliance; proactively advise on possible legal issues
  • Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations
  • Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust
  • Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights
  • Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces
  • Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization
  • Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation
  • Develop practical business solutions to advance business objectives, minimize risks and ensure legal compliance
  • Draft, negotiate and managing contracts and provide quick, concise legal advice in connection with such arrangements
  • Coordinate with external legal counsels

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently; adapt to rapidly changing priorities
  • Proven experience as a Legal Counsel in business environment
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity
  • Sound judgement and ability to analyze situations and information
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • BSc degree in Law or J.D. degree
  • MA or BSc in Business Administration will be considered an advantage
