Description:
Palm Beach Gardens-based TBC Corporation through its affiliated entities is a retailer, franchisor, and wholesaler of tire and automotive services. The Company operates under the brand names Tire Kingdom ®, National Tire & Battery ®, Midas ®, Big O Tires ®, TBC Brands® and National Tire Wholesale ®. TBC seeks a Corporate Counsel with strong experience in commercial contracts and real estate.
Responsibilities
- Candidate will support TBC Corporation and each of its retail, franchise, and wholesale entities. This will include working shoulder-to-shoulder with the business team to: draft, review and negotiate a variety of complex commercial contracts, supply agreements, master services agreements, statements of work, licensing agreements, vendor agreements; develop and maintain contract templates; develop business and legal processes; and implement internal policies.
- Candidate will also own the relationship with the Real Estate department. Responsibilities will include negotiating and preparing leases, estoppels, and related documents. Experience and comfort closing commercial real estate deals is required.
Experience/Requirements
- At least five (5) years of progressive experience handling a variety of complex commercial contract and real estate matters.
- Business acumen and flexible personality to work alongside business team with a shared goal of helping the business team reach its objectives.
- Strong preference for attorneys who have experience working in a medium/large law firm.
- Strong work ethic and service-based mindset is required. This is not a job that can be accomplished working 8a-5p every wee.
- Must have the willingness to work the hours necessary to complete work as expected and the mindset that exceeding expectations is what is required to meet expectations. C-level work is unacceptable.
- Highly professional and approachable demeanor with strong business ethics and standards
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Florida Bar, or willingness to register with the Florida Bar as authorized in-house counsel.
