Position Overview: Under the supervision of the the Senior Partner, the Contract Attorney is responsible for managing and litigating cases from start to finish including consulting with clients, drafting, research, and litigation.
Prepare, draft, negotiate and litigate Family Law, Juvenile Law, and Criminal Defense cases.
Work in close collaboration with clients, senior partner, opposing counsel, pro se litigants, and the Courts.
Communicating with clients, senior partner, opposing counsel, pro se litigants, and courts, drafting, conducting legal research, negotiating and litigating.
Collaborate with opposing counsel to provide timely responses to discovery requests and/or other requests for information.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
J.D. from an accredited law school
Admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio
2-5 years of experience as an attorney, domestic relations, juvenile, and/or criminal defense experience a plus.
Familiarity with the laws of the State of Ohio.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general court documents.
Superior writing skills and ability to draft briefs, correspondence, memoranda, motions, and pleadings.
Ability to effectively present information to clients and the courts, and respond to questions from clients, senior partner, opposing counsel, pro se litigants, courts.
Ability to multitask, solve practical problems, manage clients, and deal with a variety of concrete variables in diverse situations.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently while using sound judgment in decision-making
Ability to manage relationships with clients and colleagues.
Ability to track billable hours.
