The legal team is focused on supporting the company’s three main stakeholders: our customers, our carpoolers, and our team. The legal team is critical to helping scale Scoop’s enterprise product, creating a safe community, and enabling our internal team to do their best work.

We’re seeking a sharp, business minded attorney to join our charismatic legal team in adding more leverage to our efforts. As Commercial & Product Counsel, you will be a cross-functional business multiplier, working with our Revenue organization to negotiate commercial agreements with our enterprise customers, as well as with our Product and Engineering teams to ensure our product is compliant with a wide range of legal requirements, including data privacy and marketing laws.

In this role, you will:
  • Collaborate regularly with the Sales and Customer Success teams to negotiate and close commercial deals with Scoop’s best in class customers - we’re already in 10% of the Fortune 100, and growing rapidly!
  • Advise our Product and Engineering teams on our carpooler mobile product and enterprise products for legal compliance.
  • Review marketing communications to our users and customers for regulatory compliance adherence.
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts with Scoop’s vendors and service providers.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and documentation of Scoop’s compliance program, including systems of internal compliance and corporate governance stemming from Scoop’s existing customer and vendor contracts.

You should have:
  • Have 3-6 years of legal experience at a top law firm or in-house focused on commercial contract negotiations and/or working with Product & Eng teams on privacy and compliance matters
  • Be a member of the California bar
  • Be adept at prioritizing and managing time in the face of competing demands
  • Have outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a strong desire to be part of a fast paced in-house legal team supporting the recognized leader in the enterprise mobility space
