Allstate's Claim Litigation team provides legal assistance in connection with large and complex claims cases and manages controversies arising from the implementation and execution of claims policies and procedures, both before and after litigation has commenced (including appeals). This practice group also assists with insurance coverage disputes by providing legal opinions and managing related litigation. The group provides training and advice to the claims organization. Provides legal counsel to and representation of selected business units and/or corporate departments on selected matters. Provides support to other attorneys in Law and Regulation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs basic legal and factual research and investigation to formulate a legal opinion, identify risks and propose alternative courses of action
  • As skills develop, this attorney should be able to perform routine legal work using established procedures
  • Able to communicate views effectively orally and in writing and represent position to others internally and externally
  • Provides assistance to other attorneys on major projects and assignments
  • Work product has some influence on achievement of company goals
  • May be assigned lead responsibility for some projects and assignments
  • Works with managerial guidance and oversight

Job Qualifications
  • Possesses J.D. degree; licensed and in good standing in Texas with at least three to five years of experience as an attorney.
  • Competitive academic record and/or significant relevant accomplishments
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Litigation or Coverage experience preferred.
