Description:
The Chief Compliance Officer will provide leadership and strategic direction in overseeing, coordinating with key departments or functions, and evolving as necessary Epsilon Data Management, LLC’s compliance activities, including regulated and self-regulated activities. The individual filling this role will ensure that Epsilon has in place the appropriate framework, governance, execution, monitoring and reporting of its compliance program, in order to ensure consistently high and measurable levels of compliance.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • The Chief Compliance Officer will:
  • Manage and strategically develop Epsilon’s compliance program across business functions.
  • Ensure a culture of integrity, responsibility, awareness and transparency, which is embedded throughout the organization.
  • Identify potential areas of compliance risk, develop and implement corrective action plans or policies for resolution of relevant issues, and provide guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
  • Monitor the regulatory environment for emerging trends and assist stakeholders in assessing any impact to Epsilon.
  • Develop (as necessary), coordinate and oversee educational and training programs and conduct periodic assessments to ensure that Epsilon employees are knowledgeable of, and comply with, Epsilon’s compliance program, policies and procedures and pertinent laws, rules and regulations.
  • Provide direction to and assist in managing any employee concerns regarding known or suspected violations and ensure that all reports are appropriately investigated, including tracking and resolution of each complaint.
  • Measure and maintain records as necessary or appropriate of Epsilon’s compliance activities, coordinate compliance activities across business groups, and report to appropriate management on same.
  • Assist in the administration of the Enterprise Risk Management function, and provide direction for the activities to mitigate, at an acceptable level, any risks that may adversely affect Epsilon’s ability to achieve its internal control, financial and compliance goals.
  • Manage the organizational process for and evaluation, education and reporting of conflicts of interest to ensure that the business is conducted in a legal and ethical manner.
  • Interact and partner with the Publicis Groupe General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer, Chief Information Security Officer, and other Epsilon legal counsel or business lead for assistance in interpretation of regulatory requirements or for advice on issues, concerns or risks.
  • Interact and partner with the Internal Audit Department on reviewing and/or assessing potential or actual risks, conducting audits and/or other projects.
  • Report to and take direction from Epsilon’s chief legal counsel on activities related to Epsilon’s compliance activities.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • At least ten years of compliance experience; experience in data-driven advertising and marketing highly desirable.
  • Juris Doctor preferred.
  • Privacy-related experience, IAPP certifications in privacy a plus.
  • Ability to ensure a culture of integrity and transparency.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of an effective and measurable compliance program throughout the organization.
  • Strong critical thinking and influencing skills across all organization levels with an unbiased approach to situations.
  • Ability to manage conflict effectively while showing receptivity to the ideas and concerns of others.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of credibility, independence, integrity, confidentiality and trust.
  • Effective time management, project management, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, and ability to work with other senior management.
