Job Summary:
The Associate or Deputy General Attorney will be responsible for providing direct legal support to U.S. Dermatology Partners. This position is primarily responsible for litigation support (professional liability and non-liability), investigations, insurance coverage, and compliance related matters. Essentially, the Associate or Deputy General Attorney will maintain the efficiency of all General Counsel procedures and case management to guarantee reliability and consistency, all the while enhancing the Legal department’s effectiveness by providing information-management support.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Stays informed and supports current legislation
  • Finds ethical solutions to legal matters
  • Manages cases independently
  • Performs investigations in conjunction with outside counsel and the Chief Compliance Officer
  • Development of litigation strategies
  • Reporting to insurance carriers
  • Provides analysis of legal and policy issues
  • Conducts and oversees research into a variety of legal issues
  • Writes, edits, and finalizes reports, opinions, correspondence, and other documents
  • Support internal Employment investigations (as needed)
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service
  • Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization
  • The position will require travel to attend trials, mediations, and interviews (up to 25%)

  • 3-5 years’ experience for Associate Attorney / 5-7 for Deputy General Counsel

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
