Job Summary: This position is for an attorney (or soon to be attorney) who is interested in winning their case through writing and not by going to court every day. Our firms practice is limited to disability law and we practice mostly before the Social Security Administration and in Federal Court. The incumbent will be assigned to our Federal Court department drafting pleadings, briefs, motions, replies and other submissions for Social Security claimants all across the country. On occasion the incumbent will argue a case before the Federal Magistrate Judges and Federal District Court Judges in various districts, mostly by phone. Some travel may be necessary post COVID-19 but very minimal. If your desire is to write, and you are a good writer, this position is for you.
Qualifications and Skills:
Admission or soon to be admitted to any State Bar, does not have to be NY.
Judicial Law Clerk, Law Journal experience helpful but not required.
Some exposure to Social Security Disability Law or other case type which includes extensive medical records review would be helpful but not required.
