Associate General Counsel

Job Summary:
The Associate General Counsel is primarily responsible for assisting various departments with legal matters. This position requires assisting the Senior Vice President, General Counsel with duties and tasks daily.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assists the Business Operations departments in the following areas: drafting and negotiating term sheets, broadcasting agreements, sponsorship agreements, location agreements, suite agreements, ticket agreements and other general business transaction documents.
  • Assists the SVP/General Counsel in managing outside litigation counsel.
  • Assists the Ballpark Management departments in the following areas: drafting and negotiating event agreements, ballpark operations agreements, lease agreements, construction documents, and other contracts as necessary.
  • Assists the Human Resources department in areas of employment law and labor matters.
  • Assists the SVP/General Counsel in oversight of workers’ compensation cases and risk management.
  • Assist SVP/General Counsel in various duties.
  • Assumes any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the SVP/General Counsel.

Job Requirements
  • Must meet the following minimum requirements:
  • JD degree and California Bar admission.
  • Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience.
  • Exceptional organizational, writing, and grammar skills required.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite products (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to perform duties and make decisions that require independent judgment, initiative and tact.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strictest confidentiality in all aspects of job duties.
  • Consistent, punctual and regular attendance.
  • Professional image and demeanor.
  • Strong ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment and ability to interact professionally with the external community.
