Position Summary: We are hiring an Associate Counsel for Resolution Life US. This position reports to the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and supports the life and annuity business and operations functions across the enterprise; provides legal support for compliance personnel on consumer and regulatory matters; provides legal support to claims on non-routine matters; also manages regulatory filings for SEC registered variable life products.
Supports the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Compliance Officer
Advises business partners on product related matters, including product filings and actuarial matters
Manages filings relating to a closed block of variable life and annuity products registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission
Monitors local, state and national developments related to the life insurance industry
Collaborates with claims, compliance (including complaints) and operations personnel on day-to-day issues and provides advice and counsel as needed
All other tasks as assigned
Law degree from accredited U.S. law school
Current bar license in good standing and compliant with state requirements
3-6 years of experience with life and annuity insurance products, preferably with in-house legal department
Experience with variable insurance products registered with the SEC a plus
Experience with state insurance product filings through SERF a plus
