Responsibilities of Role
This Associate Counsel/Counsel role will provide legal support for the Bluprint line of business, handling a wide variety legal agreements and overseeing compliance and other legal issues. This role will report to the division’s Senior Counsel.
Assist in the drafting, review, negotiation and interpretation of a range of contracts and other legal documents, including technology agreements, vendor agreements, purchase orders and NDA’s.
Coordinate with Privacy and Information Security teams to ensure personal data and confidential information is collected, used and secured in accordance with the law and company policy.
Assist in the drafting and negotiation of contracts for new business development, including content partnerships and business extensions.
Assist in the drafting and negotiation of production and acquisition agreements in connection with original classes and licensed programs.
Identify and escalate potential risks and issues, and assist in implementation of practical solutions.
Maintain an awareness and understanding of the latest developments in the law and technology as they relate to e-commerce and the exploitation of content in digital media.
Partner with NBCUniversal business executives, as well as Bluprint management, to discuss and implement best practices and formulate new processes in connection with business needs.
Other matters as needed at the direction of the division’s Senior Counsel.
Member of California bar, Colorado bar or other U.S. state bar
JD or LLM degree from an accredited law school, with 2+/5+ years of legal experience
Experience in media, entertainment, IP, technology or general coporate law. Exposure to technology and digital/new media agreements a plus.
Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA (with frequent travel to Denver)
