Our energy corridor office is looking for a highly self-motivated and energetic attorney to work as part of our growing team. We are seeking a licensed attorney with 0-4 years of experience. Under the direction of a partner you will:
Manage an active caseload, largely consisting of claims under the Longshore Act;
Actively participate in all phases of case development from intake through resolution;
Provide legal advice, guidance and overall support to clients and staff.
This position is writing intensive. You will be drafting reports to clients, completing discovery, and writing briefs at trial and possibly appellate levels.
Our practice is national in scope. Once you begin taking depositions and attending mediations / trials, some travel will be required. (Please note - we are utilizing technology to reduce travel requirements in response to COVID-19).
Annual minimum billable expectation is 1900 hours. Desired billable goal is 2100 hours.
This position requires significant attention to detail and consistent desire to learn and improve.
Preferred Experience: Familiarity with maritime law, civil litigation, SSDI or LHWCA law preferred, but not required.
