Position Summary We are looking for talented attorney to join our zulily Legal team. You will be responsible for providing advice and counsel on a wide variety of matters impacting retail and e-commerce, with an emphasis on intellectual property matters. Additionally, this position will work with outside counsel and provide litigation oversight for IP claims, and will support the business teams with contract review and project support as needed.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provide Intellectual Property advice and training to zulily merchants and other team members.
Handle legal matters relating to copyrights, trademarks, patents and trade secrets.
Oversee litigation and strategy related to IP matters, including managing outside counsel and internal team regarding litigation holds and discovery.
Oversee outside counsel managing trademark portfolio and protection of zulily IP assets.
Support business teams with public relations announcements, marketing, TV scripts, and other advertising review, including special promotions and use of logos.
Draft and negotiate contracts and other documents, including merchandising agreements.
Performs basic responsibilities of a full-service in-house counsel, interacting with internal and external counsel, on various legal projects as needed.
Specific Job Knowledge
Experience advising clients on trademark, copyright and trade secret law as it relates to retail merchandise and e-commerce.
Litigation experience with IP matters and managing complex multi-party claims and indemnification obligations.
Familiarity with merchandise licensing requirements and contractual obligations.
Experience drafting and negotiating software licensing agreements and other contracts.
Ability to handle and strategically prioritize numerous projects in a fast-paced business environment.
Ability to resolve novel, complex issues with a resourceful “can-do” attitude.
Thoughtful and creative approach to finding business solutions for legal issues.
Balanced and solid judgment in ambiguous and time sensitive situations.
Ability to work independently while still being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications & Experience
Law degree, Bar Admission, WA Bar preferred.
4-6 years of experience, with at least 3 years of IP practice and litigation experience.
